Many original Girling master cylinder designs used throughout the motorsport sector are now based on older manufacturing methods and sealing technologies developed decades ago. While the Girling style remains one of the most widely used master cylinder fitments in motorsport, many original units and low-cost Girling-type alternatives can suffer from inconsistent quality, outdated internal seal designs, fluid leakage issues, corrosion, and reduced long-term reliability under modern motorsport demands.
